Jeremy Ausmus Leads Final Seven of 2022 Poker Masters Event #1

The 2022 Poker Masters kicked off at the PokerGO Studio from ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and 2022 PokerGO Cup Champion Jeremy Ausmus bagged the top stack with 2,810,000 in chips to lead the seven remaining players in Event #1: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em.

Erik Seidel (2,755,000) isn't far behind in chips, while Jacky Wang (1,295,000), Nick Schulman (1,125,000), and Cole Ferraro (1,115,000) sit in the middle of the pack. Anthony Hu (970,000) and Cary Katz (555,000) are the shorter stacks heading into the final day as play resumes at 12 p.m. PT on Thursday, September 22 with the delayed final table stream beginning at 1 p.m. PT on PokerGO.

The field of 85 entrants created a prize pool of $850,000 and the top 13 finishers earned a piece of it. Vikenty Shegal was eliminated on the money bubble when his cowboys were cracked by Ausmus' king-jack. Ausmus turned a straight and Shegal was ousted on the unfortunate runout. Ben Yu (13th), Kristina Holst (12th), Masashi Oya (11th), and Matthew Wantman (10th) all made it into the money but fell short of the unofficial final table.

The nine remaining players then converged on a single table, and Michael Jozoff fell in ninth place to Ausmus. Jozoff flopped trip aces, but Ausmus flopped a boat, and Jozoff's remaining chips went in on the river. Ferraro was dangerously close to elimination but he rivered a two-outer to survive and he doubled through Hu.

About an hour after Jozoff's elimination, Sergio Aido exited in eighth place after he lost a race to Schulman. The remaining players then played for nearly another hour without losing a player, although Katz was also close to elimination before he secured a short-stacked quadruple-up to stay alive.

The plan was to play down to six players or until 1 a.m., and after a full day of play, seven players still remained and they bagged for the night to return for the streamed final table.
