Dylan Weisman Takes Top Spot on PGT Leaderboard

It was anything but two cards dominating the action on the 2024 PokerGO Tour (PGT) season in March as PGT Mixed Games and the PGT PLO Series took center stage from the PokerGO Studio.

Alex Livingston, Dan Shak, and John Hennigan were the biggest benefactors during PGT Mixed Games as they collected their first PGT title of the season, but in regards to the PGT leaderboard, it would be Dylan Weisman and Daniel Negreanu gaining the most ground. Weisman cashed two times and collected 233 PGT points, while Negreanu cashed four times for 252 PGT points.

At the PGT PLO Series, both Weisman and Negreanu would claim the victories that they missed out on a few weeks prior. Weisman won Event #6: $10,100 Pot-Limit Omaha for $229,500 in prize money and 230 PGT points. He cashed an additional three times, collected a total of 309 PGT points, and moved into the top spot on the PGT leaderboard with 1,047 PGT points. Negreanu won Event #3: $5,100 Pot-Limit Omaha for $147,500 for his second PGT title of 2024, and first of the season. Negreanu had one additional cash and collected 195 PGT points and mode into fourth overall on the PGT leaderboard with 749 PGT points.

Coleman played just a handful of PGT PLO Series events but was unable to find the payout line. He now sits second on the PGT leaderboard with 937 PGT points. The biggest mover in March was Finland's Samuli Sipila, who was crowned the PGT PLO Series champion after collecting 749 PGT points from his two wins and four cashes. Sipila is now third on the PGT leaderboard, and he'll have more Pot-Limit Omaha opportunities at the upcoming WSOP and ARIA High Roller Series.

Kristen Foxen dropped down from third to fifth on the PGT leaderboard, while Seth Davies rose up to sixth overall with 590 PGT points on the back of his Event #9: $25,200 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship victory for $522,000. Eelis Parssinen won two events at the PGT PLO Series, including Event #2: $7,600 Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty for $131,325 and $32,500 in bounties, and Event #8: $15,100 Pot-Limit Omaha for $348,600. Parssinen is now seventh on the PGT leaderboard with 565 PGT points.

Rounding out the PGT Leaderboard top ten include Jonathan Little (549 PGT points), Alex Foxen (489 PGT points), and David Peters (457 PGT points).

PGT Championship Qualification & Player of the Year Bonus

Players who finish the 2024 PGT season ranked in the top 40 of the PGT leaderboard and have cashed in three PGT events throughout the season will earn qualification for the season-ending PGT Championship $1,000,000 freeroll. The PGT Championship winner will take home $500,000 with additional payouts for the final table paid as a combination of cash and a PGT Passport. The player who finishes the 2024 PGT season with the most leaderboard points will be named PGT Player of the Year and be awarded a $50,000 PGT Passport.

What's Next On the PGT Schedule?

The next series on the 2024 PGT season schedule is the sixth annual U.S. Poker Open from April 8 to 17. The schedule features eight No-Limit Hold'em events with buy-ins ranging from $5,100 to the $25,200 finale. The player that accumulates the most PGT points throughout the series will be crowned the U.S. Poker Open champion and follow in the footsteps of Stephen Chidwick (2018), David Peters (2019, 2021), Sean Winter (2022), and Martin Zamani (2023). The winner of the 2024 U.S. Poker Open will receive the Golden Eagle Trophy and a $25,000 PGT Passport, and every final table will be livestreamed on PokerGO.

Following the U.S. Poker Open will be the inaugural Texas Poker Open from Champions Club in Houston, Texas. The series runs from April 24 to May 5, with the marquee event being the $3,300 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Main Event, which includes a $2,000,000 prize pool guarantee and eight opening flights - four of which are turbo flights. Players will earn PGT points in the Texas Poker Open Main Event, as well as the seven high rollers on the schedule: five $5,100 buy-in events and two $10,100 buy-in events. Every day of the Texas Poker Open Main Event will be livestreamed on PokerGO, along with the final four high roller final tables.

Once these two series conclude, attention will turn to the 2024 World Series of Poker and the ARIA High Roller Series. The WSOP will host 28 PGT-qualifying events from May 27 to July 17, while the ARIA High Roller Series will run from June 19 to July 8 and include 14 one-day high rollers from the PokerGO Studio.
