David Coleman at 4th Consecutive PGT Kickoff Final Table

The inaugural PGT Kickoff series continued at the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino with Event #4: $5,100 No-Limit Hold'em. The fourth event of the series - and fourth overall to start the 2024 PGT season - welcomed a 41-entrant field that played down to the final six players.

Leading those six players is a very familiar name at PGT Kickoff as David Coleman finished as chip leader with 1,675,000 in chips. Coleman currently holds top spot on the PGT leaderboard with 442 PGT points and has finished first, fifth, and second in the first three events of the series. Coleman is now at his fourth consecutive final table of PGT Kickoff and will be looking to extend his lead on the PGT leaderboard with potentially his second victory of the series and third of 2024 after he won the $1,600 Card Player Poker Tour earlier in the month for $120,150.

The penultimate event of PGT Kickoff would create a prize pool of $205,000 that paid the final six spots. The smaller-than-expected field played fast as action was soon down to the final two tables. As the big stacks continued to increase their lead, the likes of Cary Katz, Lewis Spencer, Jim Collopy, Dylan DeStefano, and Jeremy Ausmus were all eliminated as the field was down to single digits. 

Justin Bonomo would eliminate Masashi Oya on the final table bubble in eighth place, as the final seven players redrew to one table with Sergeii Kislinskii holding the chip lead ahead of Jeremy Becker. On the bottom end of the chip counts was Coleman, but he soon doubled through Becker with pocket aces, and then found them again and doubled through Kislinskii's ace-king. It was now Coleman's turn to apply the pressure as a flurry of uncalled all-ins saw his chip stack rise to over 1,500,000. 

Kislinskii was now the short stack, and he found a spot in the small blind to shove with jack-nine suited, but Bonomo woke up with a pair of eights in the big blind and called. No help came from Kislinskii, and he was eliminated on the Event #4 money bubble in eighth place.

Coleman holds the chip lead when play resumes on Monday, January 14, but has young gun Becker snapping on his heels as the only other player over seven figures. Bonomo is registering his first cash of PGT Kickoff and sits third overall with 705,000 in chips. Sandwiched among the Americans are Russians Viktor Ustimov and Nikita Kalinin. Ustimov has made two final tables this series, while Kalinin finished fifth in the opening event. Rounding out the final table is Victoria Livschitz with 300,000 in chips. Livschitz finished seventh in Event #2 and has already surpassed that result by being among the final six players.

The remaining players have all locked up $12,300 in prize money, but all eyes remain on the $73,800 first-place prize and 148 PGT points.
