The 2023 Poker Masters continued at the PokerGO Studio from ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Daniel Lazrus bagged the top stack with 3,035,000 to lead the six remaining players in Event #5: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em.
Niko Koop, Brian Kim, and Andrew Lichtenberger are next up on the leaderboard, while Koray Aldemir and Brock Wilson will come back as the shorter stacks as the six players return for the final day of play at 12 p.m. PT on Wednesday, September 20 with the delayed final table stream beginning at 1 p.m. PT on PokerGO.
The field of 85 entrants created a prize pool of $850,000 and the top 13 finishers earned a piece of it. Justin Bonomo was the unfortunate bubble boy when he ran ace-jack into Koop's ace-king and failed to improve. Jesse Lonis (13th), Alex Foxen (12th), Chance Kornuth (11th), Ren Lin (10th), and Ariel Mantel (9th) all made it into the money but fell short of the unofficial final table, although Lonis, Foxen, and Lin each picked up their third cash of the series.
The eight remaining players converged on a single table and Shannon Shorr fell in eighth place when he was rivered by Lichtenberger. On the final hand of the night, Matt Bond was eliminated in seventh place when he got ace-four in against Lazrus' pocket sevens. Lazrus held to take the end-of-day chip lead, and the six remaining players bagged and tagged to return for the streamed final table on Wednesday.
Lazrus' biggest cash was for $1,000,000 in the 2021 WSOP Millionaire Maker. A win here would put him over $2,000,000 in total live earnings according to the Hendon Mob. Lazrus, Koop, Kim, and Aldemir all notched their first cash of the series, while Wilson and Lichtenberger have now each cashed for a third consecutive event. Lichtenberger will also be looking to secure a shiny new piece of hardware on his 36th birthday as the six players return with eyes on the $204,000 first-place prize and Event #5 trophy.
