Alex Livingston Wins PGT Mixed Games $25K 10-Game Championship for $324,465

Alex Livingston had a score to settle at the 2024 PGT Mixed Games following his runner-up finish in the 10-Game Championship in October 2023. Livingston rode the big stack and a few ounces of luck to win Event #9: $25,300 10-Game Championship and the $324,465 first-place prize. 

As of today, Livingston had cashed 25 times on the PGT, and it would take his 26th career PGT cash to earn his first career PGT title after he defeated Dylan Weisman heads-up. According to The Hendon Mob, Livingston now has amassed more than $8.58 million in lifetime tournament earnings and moves to 10th on Canada's All-Time Money List, having jumped over Ari Engel and Mike Leah with this victory.

"I finally got one," Livingston said after the conclusion of the event.

The marquee event of the 2024 PGT Mixed Games would see the 41-entrant field return for Day 2 action with just 13 players in contention for one of the final six spots that were in the money. Jeremy Ausmus, Philip Sternheimer, and Lyle Berman were early casualties along with Felipe Ramos and Aaron Kupin. Down to the final eight players, Adam Friedman was unable to chase down Max Hoffman's buried aces in Stud as the final seven redrew to one table with Livingston holding the chip lead.

Super High Roller Bowl Pot-Limit Omaha winner Jared Bleznick would be eliminated on the money bubble when he was all-in and made a straight in five, but was outdone by Livingston's superior straight in five. Livingston would continue his spot on top as the chip leader heading into the PokerGO livestreamed final table of six players from the PokerGO Studio Triangle Room.

Walter Chambers was the first elimination when his four-card wheel draw failed to improve in the Badugi round to Dan Zack's made four-card queen. This was Chambers' second final table in a row and he took home $61,500.

Next out was John Racener, who started the final table short on chips, and although Racener was able to catch a low on seventh street in Stud Hi-Lo while all-in to chop and stay alive, he made his exit a few hands later after Weisman caught a straight on sixth street after Racener moved all-in on fifth. 

The fourth-place finisher was PGT Points leader, Max Hoffman, who was eliminated when he moved all-in during the No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw round against Dylan Weisman. Both drew one, but Weisman drew best, sending Hoffman home in fourth for $112,750. With this finish, Hoffman would go on to be crowned the 2024 PGT Mixed Games champion.

Out in third was Dan Zack. Zack would get hot early and go from the table short stack to the table chip leader, but eventually cooled off and was eliminated in the 2-7 Triple Draw round, when he ran a seven-six perfect into the wheel of Dylan Weisman after Zack drew two cards in each of the drawing rounds. Zack took home a six-figure score worth $153,750. 

Alex Livingston and Dylan Weisman started heads-up close in chips, with Weisman having around a four big bet advantage over Livingston. However, it was Livingston who would take back the chip lead fairly quickly when he made an eighty-seven low in the Razz round. Livingston would then pull away and eliminate Weisman a few hands later in the No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw round when Weisman found himself all-in and drawing dead to the dealt ninety-eight of Livingston.

After Max Hoffman was eliminated in fourth place, he would need to fade Dan Zack reaching heads-up play if he was to remain on top of the PGT Mixed Games leaderboard. Following the cooler hand in 2-7 Triple Draw, which saw Zack's number two go down to Dylan Weisman's wheel, Hoffman would be crowned the PGT Mixed Games champion.

Hoffman cashed five times at PGT Mixed Games, including two runner-up finishes, on his way to earning $376,300 in PGT earnings during the series. The 331 PGT points that Hoffman earned also thrust him into 10th place on the PGT leaderboard. Hoffman collects the PGT Gold Cup and a $10,000 PGT Passport for being crowned the 2024 PGT Mixed Games champion, and he now joins Zack and Chino Rheem as series champions of PGT Mixed Games.
