The 2018 Poker Masters is officially underway. Over the next week, the world’s best will compete across seven High Roller events for the title of Poker Masters champion. The Poker Masters Purple Jacket awaits and “Today at the Poker Masters” will take you through the highest stakes week of the year with daily updates from the PokerGO Studio.

When the highest stakes week of the year concludes, the most consistent player will claim the Poker Masters Purple Jacket. Brandon Adams has been the most consistent thus far. Before Monday’s $10,000 Short Deck event, Adams was a perfect three-for-three, with three final tables finishes and one victory. While no one else boasts that kind of streak, a handle of High Roller regulars are keeping pace with the Event 2 winner.

Three such players managed to do what Adams couldn’t last night. Isaac Haxton, Cary Katz, and Dominik Nitsche all bagged chips for Tuesday’s Short Deck final table, meaning they’ll battle for valuable Poker Master Championship Standings points live on PokerGO at 4 PM ET.

While Nitsche bagged the chip lead, he has the lowest point total among the trio. A win changes that, but most following the Purple Jacket race will have their eyes on Isaac Haxton.

Haxton has matched Adams’ three final table total, but he has yet to record a podium finish. Still, that consistency has kept Haxton in contention and with 180 points heading into the Event 4 final table, a first podium finish of the series could vault him into top-three.

Cary Katz also has a chance to make a big Poker Masters Championship Standings jump. The most capped player in ARIA High Roller history sits atop the High Roller of the Year leaderboard, but is outside the Poker Masters top-ten. Katz opened the series with two in-the-money finishes, but failed to reach the final table both times. He’s broken through in Event 4 and if his third cash ends on the podium, Katz could leap into the top-five.

A complete Poker Masters Championship Standings update will be posted at the conclusion of the Event 4 final table. Until then, catch up on tons of Short Deck content, including a conversation with Jason Koon and other high stakes experts. The first Poker Masters episode of the Poker Central Podcast also dives head first into Short Deck and can be found below:
