Sammartino Eyes First Bracelet

Each day there are a thousands of players inside the Rio searching for their first gold bracelet. Only a handful draw “Best Player Without a World Series of Poker Bracelet” honors and Dario Sammartino might be one of them. The Italian professional has shown well over the last few series, including podium finishes in the 2017 $111,111 High Roller for One Drop and the 2018 $10,000 2-7 NL Lowball Championship. Sammartino has also had a handful of other final table runs that have failed to end with his first bracelet.

That could change today. Sammartino enters the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship final table with a massive chip lead and should be the favorite at an experienced final table. Three bracelet winners surround Sammartino, including Scott Clements and Greg Mueller.
