Facts and figures. They make the world go around and, more often than not, tell a story without letting opinions or biases get in the way. Which numbers from the past week tell those stories and what quick opinions do we have?

5 – The fifth time is the charm, right? It was for Darryll Fish, who has come close to World Poker Tour titles on multiple occasions before turning his fifth career WPT final table into his first WPT victory. Fish outlasted an over 900-player field to win the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open Main Event for a career-best $511,000 score. The triumph come close to a year after Fish finished 2nd in the WPT Showdown Championship at Seminole Hard Rock, meaning that the Florida native does pretty well on his home felt.

$596,194 – While Fish was picking up a win in his backyard, Ben Lamb picked one up on the opposite side of the globe. The two-time WSOP Main Event final tablist won the $25,000 Challenge at the Aussie Millions Poker Championship, defeating Jan Schwippert heads up for the title. The $596,000 result is the fifth-best of Lamb’s storied career, which just goes to show how many big results Lamb has had, despite playing just a handful of tournaments a year.

787 – Lamb has gone through thousands of players to get to two WSOP Main Event final tables, so getting through another 787 shouldn’t be that hard, right? That’s the registration number of this year’s Aussie Millions Main Event heading into Day 2 and while registration is still open, the all-time Aussie Millions record has already fallen. This year’s event is the biggest since 2008 and with the WSOP Main Event usually mirroring Aussie Millions turnout, this is definitely “good for poker.”

30 – Another thing that is “good for poker,” PokerGO and if you don’t want to believe me, you can see for yourself.
