Top Fantasy Poker Picks for Event #60: $50,000 Poker Players Championship

One of the marquee events of the WSOP is here with Event #60: $50,000 Poker Players Championship kicking off on Sunday, and registration open through four more levels on Day 2 (approximately 10:20 p.m. PT).

Day 1 attracted a total of 43 players with four already on the rail as Bryce Yockey finished as the chip leader with 653,000 in chips. Rounding out the top few counts include Dario Sammartino, Chris Vitch, Eli Elezra, and Randy Ohel. Those five players will likely have very high ownership percentages due to their position on the leaderboard, along with Shaun Deeb and Yuval Bronshtein who both are very accomplished mixed game players and are in-form this WSOP having already won a WSOP bracelet.

The value in the Poker Players Championship is most likely going to be down the leaderboard. Two-time winner Brian Rast sits ninth on the leaderboard with 437,000 in chips, while it’s also hard to look past Robert Mizrachi and Paul Volpe who sit 12th and 13th overall.

With registration in the Poker Players Championship coinciding with the contest locking so late in the day, it is likely that several players will be max late registering. Players still in Event #57: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Championship that are likely to play include Joao Vieira and Brandon Shack-Harris, while Event #56 winner Ben Yu is definitely going to play in the Poker Players Championship but is known for being a notorious late register.

Other players worth monitoring are Nick Schulman, Mike Gorodinsky, Jared Bleznick, Justin Bonomo, and John Hennigan.

What’s On The Line?

The $2,500 SuperDraft freeroll has reserved $250 to the eventual winner, but along with that cash prize, there is an added $10,000 WSOP Main Event seat. If the player is unable to play, they are entitled to take $7,500 in site credits.

Line-up Formation

Lineups are made up of five players that include a “Champion” player that scores an additional 50% of their multiplier and four others. With SuperDraft, every player is assigned a multiplier, and as new players enter the WSOP gold bracelet event in real-time, they will be added to the draftable player pool. Points in the contest are awarded to players that finish in the top 20, along with bonuses for finishing in-the-money, reaching the final table, reaching the top five, reaching the top three, and winning it all.

What is Coming Up Next?

After you’ve pocketed the lion’s share of the $50,000 Poker Players Championship freeroll, all the attention will be turned to the WSOP Main Event where there are three contests running starting from Day 5 onwards. Day 5 will have a $1,000 contest and potentially a 200-player pool, while on Day 6 there will be roughly 90 players to choose from and $2,000 up for grabs. The final contest for the WSOP Main Event will be a $3,000 freeroll where there will be roughly 27 players to draft from.
