High stakes cash games have dominated Poker After Dark over the last year, but “888poker” week featured a return to the classic Poker After Dark structure. While there were no six-figure pots, the first of two $10,000 sit and go’s brought tons of action.

Online legend Chris Moorman made his Poker After Dark debut alongside 888poker online qualifier Peter Martin. They headlined the session and wasted no time playing a huge pot. On one of the first hands of the night, Moorman was dealt pocket queens, Martins had ace-king, and the qualifier’s tournament life hung in the balance.

If ace-king was good, pocket aces probably felt even better. Unfortunately, the two times Martin held the blades he was the one getting cut down. First, Bill Klein’s short stack cracked aces and then Martin played one of the biggest pots of the night against Maria Ho. The two best hands in poker were against each other and Maria Ho needed help.

She got it on the river and Martin was on the wrong side of a massive cooler. The 888poker qualifier had to settle for 4th place and after Klein was eliminated in 3rd, Ho and Eli Elezra squared off for the $10K sit and go title. Another cooler ended that heads up affair almost immediately after it started, with Ho holding rockets and Elezra holding ace-king.

Elezra flopped some additional outs, but he couldn’t connect and Ho picked up another Poker After Dark title after winning a sit and go during “Holidays with Hellmuth” week.

The entire “888poker” lineup will return for another $10K sit and go on Tuesday, with a new 888poker online qualifier looking to turn $1 into a $50,000 payout! Subscribe to watch live on PokerGO!
