The 2014 World Series of Poker opens in grand fashion with Phil Ivey on the feature table in Day 4. The 2015 edition opened in a similar way when Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu joined forces.

The first two episodes from 2014 are available on PokerGO with Ivey back where he belongs under the bright lights of the Mothership.

Ivey starts with a strong chip stack and a chance to make a run at his second November Nine appearance. 2009 was the Year of Ivey and he turned a two bracelet summer into a seventh-place finish in the Main Event.

It’s the Ivey show leading up to the money bubble where he applies maximum pressure on his opponents.

Speaking of the money bubble, Ronnie Bardah might be the most nervous player in the room. Bardah searches for his record-breaking fifth consecutive Main Event cash amid treacherous conditions. Short-stacked and at risk, Bardah walks a path of fire to make the money.

Another familiar face from the Main Event joins the fun when Griffin Benger starts to chip up. The 2016 November Niner doesn’t have a “Moment” quite like he did against William Kassouf but makes a quality run to set himself up for two years later.

Before he officially became “Kane Kalas,” Kane Kalas starts to make his poker name on Day 4. Kalas is now a force in major East Coast and WSOP events and earns his breakout in the 2014 Main Event. Two months after the Main Event, Kalas finished second in the WPT Borgata Poker Open and collected a sizable $500,364 score.

Ivey tangles with Kalas and a few other players who become notables deep in 2014 including Felix Stephensen and Bruno Politano.

His stay at the feature table contains an expiration date but that doesn’t stop Ivey from leaving his footprint on the Main Event.
